Jesus gave to Peter, a simple fisher that was, rude and ignorant (analphabetic), the leadership of the Church, and with all the oppression of the Jews, priest and High Priest (today pastors and bishops), who beat up, threatened and imprisoned several times, you only have to read in Acts.

God used many prophets and Young kings like David and the prophet Jeremiah 1:
5- (...) I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6- Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I [am] a child.
